History and Revolutions.
1960s Revolution in San Francisco
Our world is ripe with history and revolutions. Not only is history interesting, it also provides us with a look at how we used to function with one another in the past. We cannot build a better future if we do not know how to correct the mistakes of our past.
One country that is full of historical significance is that of the United States. The United States is comprised of many states and cities, but none may be as significant as San Francisco and the student movement of the 1960’s.
In the 1960’s, vacation apartments San francisco had to offer were full of students and media who were all attracted to the student counter-revolution movement. This was a movement that was anti-bourgeoisie and anti-capitalist.
The reason this revolution is so significant is because it spurned revolutions all across Europe as well. Groups such as the Red Army Faction all owe their beginnings to the student revolutions of the 1960’s.
This revolution taught us that young minds would not blindly follow the elder leaders of their respective countries. No longer could leaders of business and political figures shove aside the younger generation. This revolution was as much about change as it was a statement, a statement that said change was in order. This is a shining example of how one revolution that started in California had wide spread repercussions across the globe.
